I started doing theatre when I was four years old. I have a deep love and passion for it, and in turn a love for Duke Ellington and all of the support it has given me and other students in their learning journey. This school stokes the fire in everyone, not only for their art but for their craving for justice and their desire to use their talents towards cultivating it. I want nothing more than to continue to watch the school help passionate kids grow and learn, and to preserve the wonderful community that the school creates. I’m raising money so that Ellington can keep doing magic, and so that through the stars that emerge from graduation here, people everywhere can also learn to stamp out conflict and inequity. The arts can change the world when wielded to, and I want to assist Duke Ellington in teaching people to do just that.

March for the Arts is the

Duke Ellington School of the Arts annual

Theatre Fundraiser.

Support Us!

In the Theatre Department, students aren't just taught how to act. They are taught how to create the stories they want to see. They are given the tools to shape the world around them with their art. Ellington relies on the generosity of parents and donors to ensure that our students receive the highest level of pre-professional training and performance opportunities. Donations enable them to create sets, craft costumes, power technical capabilities, hire additional instructors, and fund classes with Master Acting Teachers like the renowned Professor Vera Katz, Tony-nominated actor Corey Hawkins.
